Project description.

Rijschool Future is a driving school where you apply for driving lessons 7 days a week with trained and experienced driving instructors. The driving school has a number of packages where you can take a trial lesson. I designed and developed a completely new website for Rijschool Future. After the design was approved through a design process, I started building a custom WordPress website.

Development.

The design has been accurately converted from Sketch into a custom WordPress theme with the necessary components and SVGs and icon fonts where possible, for their crisp, clean appearance and fast loading speed. Thanks to the customization, the back-end environment is extremely flexible and the landing pages can be easily configured with components. The modular components make it easy to set up landing pages using a custom builder in ACF. In addition, there is a footer button that refers you to a payment form, which allows students to pay online for their lessons and packages with iDeal (Dutch Payment Provider). For this, a custom tailored form was made with Gravity Forms and linked to Mollie as payment provider.

Optimizations.

During development, all script libraries are managed via Node.JS/NPM, so that the latest version can always be easily deployed (think of Bootstrap, Fontawesome etc.) and task runners are used with Gulp.js to compile all SASS and JavaScript to minified and combined scripts. In addition, the scripts ensure that images are lazyloaded and where possible scripts are loaded in the footer. This ensures that a minimum number of requests is maintained, which greatly benefits the speed. Since the website has been developed responsive and “mobile first”, the site works optimally on every device and can also be viewed for every device and potential customer.
